As indicated in the name, this hike is a waterfall lover’s dream! The hike itself is moderate, so you don’t even need to work hard for your reward. Due to its relative ease and accessibility, the trail gets very crowded on weekends. If possible, consider visiting on a weekday. In addition, I would recommend hiking this loop in the Winter or Spring when water levels are higher and the falls are even more dramatic and picturesque. However, if you’re interested in going for a swim (particularly at Upper North Falls), then visiting on a hot day would be more ideal.
Sidenote: Mack and I ran the Silver Falls half marathon trail run back in November. Although the route didn’t stick to the entire loop, we still got to run behind a few waterfalls. Very beautiful (and moderate!) course. If you like trail races, I highly recommend this one.
